Ten percent of the earth’s surface is covered in ice, yet man’s knowledge of the ice masses remains limited…. |

San from Busuki, Indonesia, constucted a floatable device to search for bottles from a drowned factory. They float in the remains from the most active mud volcano on earth. These bottles are his only income after the mud made living impossible to more than 10000 people. The disaster was caused by a poorly managed drilling site for gas. |

Germany, Berlin: Museum für Naturkunde Berlin: exhibition »Natur – unser kostbares Netz« (Nature – our precious network).
The exhibition highlights the mutual coherences of the bio diversity and human footprint with insightful texts and pictures of the best nature and landscape photographers. Examples from all over the world visualize how to conserve the bio diversity, but also enable their use. The exhibition is a cooperation of Geo magazine, the World Conservation Union (IUCN), the Convention on Biological Diversity (ScBN) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ). |
